HAHA! Cal will not be posting hiphop today! WHAT?! Hell yeah, decided it was time for me to dig into the interweb for some more house/electro/dubstep and whatever. My collection was starting to be a bit redundant and old. You know, we always need some new basslines in our lives for us to sleep well at night. It's also good trying to stay on top of our game if you know whaaattt I meeaaan.

Afrojack - Polkadots 2010 (Oliver Twizt Remix)
Anyway, 1st track was originally produced by Afrojack, dirty dutch house god, and then remixed by Oliver Twizt. I had the chance to witness a live set by Afrojack at Mysteryland festival in Holland. Let me tell you that it was fucking packed and crunk house beats for hours. We almost died trying to get out of the tent(we were going to Dirty South's stage) since everybody was trying to get in. Afrojack passed by Montreal not too long ago and apparently he delivered once again. ANYWAY good stuff, good beat, grungy electro bass line.

Don Diablo & Example - Hooligans (Extended Dub)
Don Diablo has always been producing quality bangers and this one is not an exception. He did this beat for UK act "Example". The original kinda had cheesy house lyrics but this version only has the good stuff. Here's the extended dub, it was released last year but what ever it's still some hard shit. Tim Turbo ft. Spoek Mathambo & Gnucci Banana - Hush (Iggy, Iggy)
We received this track from "Tim Turbo" in our inbox not so long ago and it kinda surprised me a bit because I had never really heard anything like that for quite a long time. It has that funky tropical electronic sound. This track got the attention of big names such as Douster & So Shifty so you know there must be something going on. Germans are known to be party people and this shit right here is a party anthem. Album coming out on October 1st, watch for it.

We don't post mixes that often on Avenge The Virgins. Actually there's no specific reason why we don't, it just happens like that. I guess we like to concentrate ourselves on providing fresh music to people instead of long ass useless mixes.

As I'm sure you've all noticed, we've buckled down and bought a new domain. www.avengethevirgins.net is now up and running, so update your bookmarks, 'cause shit is definitely about to get serious. Deadrat6- Very Exactly

Ok, so it's really generic trance. That name is pure genius though. Deadmau5 is a prick anyways, from what I've heard, so the more parodies/disses, the better.

Highbloo- 50cl

Highbloo is a 19 year old Belgian producer, a talented-as-fuck purveyor of trippy, bleepy percussive tech house. I think one of Brodinski's monthly charts probably tipped me on to him, and I've been digging his output ever since. There are a lot of young talented producers making some really experimental, daring and fucked up music out of France and Belgium these days. Must be something in the water.

oOoOO- Hearts

San Francisco sure knows how to spawn weird psychedelic music. oOoOO are mysterious as hell, weaving sparse, hollow sounds into an unsettling sonic landscape. I read an interview they did in Vice Magazine that featured a quote that said that oOoOO sounds like something a serial killer would listen to speeding through the fog across the Golden Gate bridge, after committing a murder. Pretty fucking apt, I would say. Fantastic stuff.

Breakage ft Burial- Vial

See, this is what dubstep is supposed to fucking sound like. Admittedly, I was first introduced to the world of dubstep after listening to Burial's second CLASSIC album Untrue. I thought dubstep was supposed to be music that sounds like a city, to put it crudely. Sounds that evoke images of grimy industrial districts, with warehouses and smoking chimneys. Isn't dubstep supposed to sound like the ringing in your ears after driving back home from a rave in the morning? What's with all the bleepy bloopy bullshit? Wobble wobble fuck off.(I'm hating, but I love this shit. Raw, dirty, pounding sub-bass is fucking ace.)

Kidz in the Hall- Flickin' (Nick Catchdubs x Proper Villains remix)

Catchdeezi and Proper Villains. Their remix of the Cataracts' "Club Love" was major, and so is this. This shit oozes steez.

Afrojack- Bangduck

Yes, it sounds almost exactly like Boris Dlugosch's Bangkok. . It's intentional. Some say it's a diss, some say a tribute. Either way, Afrojack has just dropped one of the biggest bangers of the year, and has had his sound jacked by just about everyone in the past year. Those high-pitched rave stabs are getting to my head. Call a fucking doctor, already.

Rusko- Da Cali Anthem

Finally out. Cheaaaaaaaaaaaah.

I've also included Rusko's new video for Woo Boost. He is the most popular (and divisive) figure in dubstep, and is working with big pop stars like Rihanna now. He seems like an awesome dude, and I would've loved to see him at Igloofest (If it wasn't minus 40 degrees at the time). His music is either really good or unbearably cheesy and horrible, but I dig his drive. (Plus, keytar, Max Headroom swagger-jacking and weird mohawks! what's not to like?)

Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence (Hard Rock Sofa Remix)
Ahhhhh. Seems like every time I encounter a new remix of this song it just gets better and better. Let me tell you a story. This all started when I went to see Eli Escobar. At one point during his set he dropped a remix of this song. So naturally, when I got back home I tried to find it, but in vain. A few weeks later I finally came across a remix by Ewan Pearson and another by Chew Fu. Sadly, neither of these was the remix I was looking for. At this point I decided to dig a little deeper. The outcome your asking me? Still not the remix I wanted, but an incredible clip and remix by Mike Shinoda which satisfied my desire.
