rainy days
Rainy up in here. Seems like mother nature hates me, always sunny during the week but when it comes to the weekend, bouya. Anyhow, rainy days are always good for a music enthusiasts ; somebooooody exactly like you and me.
Mostly chill vibes that I felt like listening to at the moment.
Machine Drum - Late Night Operation (feat. Theophilus London)
1st off "late night operation" featuring NYC prodigy Theophilus London. Nice mellow but catchy beat. Mister London delivers a buttery flow. Look for Machine Drum's work, very talented producers, also from Brooklyn.
Letherette - Late Night Operation feat. Theophilus London (Remix)
The remix by Letherette starts on a hip hop note but quickly changes into a glitchy electro beat. Its bananas.
Afta-1 - Honey Dip
If you haven't heard the Aftathoughts Vol 1 album by Afta-1 yet well go peep that shit quickly. Good hip hop instrumental ambient beats for them rainy days. Good background music to execute your favorite indoor hobby.
Bonobo - Between The Lines (feat. Bajka)
Last one by Bonobo featuring vocalist Bajka. She adds a nice soul touch to the song. Enjoy

this wasn't easy
Quick update for you fine fellows. It goes a little something like this...
- Surf the big internet wave from one blog to another and at times add a new one to my bookmarks.
- Download songs I like, download songs I think I might like, download pretty much everything from blogs I like, download mixtapes which could maybe have something I like.
- Now it gets tricky, listen to the songs I've downloaded. Usually this was quite simple since I brought my ipod everywhere, but without it I am confined to listening to my music at home while trying to download more music.
- Decide which songs I like and which should be posted at some time or another. My month of May 2010 folder has around 500 songs. So finding the time to enjoy all this music is kinda difficult.
- I do what I can though, but with so much music my mom got scared and said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air."
- I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I can say that this cab was rare, but I thought, "Nah forget it - Yo homes to Bel Air!"
- I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie "Yo homes smell ya later." I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air.
Will Smith - The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air (Theme)
Will Smith - The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air (Mustard Pimp Remix)
I must admit AtV supports Mustard Pimp quite a bit. This is to be expected when you're making incredibly dope music and kindly sharing it with us! It has been anticipated and posted quite a bit, but what the hell, I'll follow the crowd.
Shinichi Osawa - EEAA (Mustard Pimp Remix)
The multinational duo blows the roof off the original song. Seriously mind melting. The song didnt come alone though... Check out their new EP "Rock Paper Scissors" dropping June 15th on Beatport.
Mustard Pimp - Gold
Sampling Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold from the most epic western ever made, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. This is the first song that got me hooked on Mustard Pimp back in February of 09. Also, props to the dudes at Penned Madness for these links.
Larry Tee - Let's Get Nasty (Mustard Pimp Remix)
Finally, after going through a bunch of songs, I was able to find one that hasn't been posted much.
Listening to sooo much Mustard Pimp has turned my brain inside out...

I'm too saxy
With MDMAwesome away, seems like I'll have to get my "eh" game on and start posting on a regular basis. Today's post has a theme! (don't we all love themes?) Well as you'll notice while listening to the songs, the theme today will be sax, trumpet or any horn instrument intertwined with electro/house music. Songs go from old to new so you can see the evolution of this style, yadig?
Jesse Rose - Touch My Horn
Relatively old track released on Dubsided some time last year. It has Jesse Rose's signature simplicity mixed with glitchy horns. I think it's worth mentioning Crookers and Mad Kids remixed this song.
Jesse Rose - Touch My Horn (Mad Kids Remix)
Since we always like supporting Montreal talent, (seems like Mr. Rose himself showed some love for the remix) this track is definetely worth checking out.
The Partysquad - CrazyFunkyStyle (Original Mix)
Another dance floor killer from Mad Decent. This one is off the 10th and last edition of Hollertronix. For those of you who don't know about the Hollertronix series, it began with Diplo and a few folks from Low B. It showed DJs that it was possible to bring Hip-Hop, Indie and a variety of different sounds into a club. It is also one of the reasons the music world was introduced to the Bmore sound. Once again the bleepy horns and catchy vocals make this track a banger. Buy it here!
Jason Sundstrom - Revolution (Trumpet Dub)
Before coming across this guy's EP on KidCity, his name was completely unknown to me. Seriously go check all his other songs, they are bangin!
Bongo Starr - Saxofonia (Riva Starr Club Mix)
Ahhh and now into the new shit. You won't find these songs hanging around Hypem. This ain't the first time I feature Riva Starr on the blog, but I particularly enjoy this one. Gotta say it kind of reminds me of his song Trompe D'Amour only in a more clubby style, kinda like something Bingo Players would do. Buy it here!
Kid Kaio - Sax Tape (Too Saxy)
And now for "la pièce de résistance". This is the "ne plus ultra" of horny electro... ehh let me rephrase that, electro music using horn sounds. In this case, the horn sound is saxophone and it is simply brilliant. This song has evolved from its predecessors and is no longer a simple horn hook. The amazing sax sound undergoes a series of transformations which, you guessed it, gets exponentially better as the song progresses. I first came across this track on Brodinski's Mystery Mix, then again on another of Neoteric's awesome projects called Turned On: Vol 1. Good timing, it was recently released and you can go buy the whole thing. I highly encourage you to do this here!
If I were to make a horny beat it would go something like this
BOOM BOOM SAXAMAPHONE BOOM BOOM SAX-A-MA-PHOOONE!
That is all.

Yes back again posting some glitchy trip hop electro. No new songs, just old goodies that I was listening to recently. I've always digg that kind of sound ; super raw basslines with some glitchy electro sounds. Who's better then edIT to demonstrate what I'm babbling about.
He is one of the top guys to produce that kind of sound. He always comes out with quality albums/EP. Check out his debut album "Crying Over Pros For No Reason", the vibe of the songs are way different then the ones that I'm sharing today. Sick stuff my friends. It rips the skin off your face.
One of his classics (Battling Go-Go Yubari Downtown LA) and the other one is a sweet remix featuring J.Dilla off the "The Game Is Not Over" EP. enjoy
