I'm ridiculously tired, so I'll keep it really short this morning.

Hope you dig the tunes.

Parlovr- Pen to the Paper

I saw this Montreal three-piece open for Trail of Dead & Surfer Blood last sunday, and they blew me away. Lo-fi garage pop with swagger.

Hovatron- Gypsy Trader

A little bit of old school Hovatron to start your day off right. Gypsy Trader features throbbing bass, terrifying synth lines and a heavy groove. Top notch production from this young & talented Montreal producer.

Falty DL- My friends will always say

A fantastic tune that sounds like it should only be enjoyed properly if played on a phonograph. Turn-of-the-century opium den vibes.

XV- Swervin (Lunice remix)

Brand new remix from Montreal's resident #masterchef Lunice. Dude is really blowing up, and we couldn't be more stoked. We've been supporting him for a long time, so it's nice to see him finally get international recognition and love. Let the boy cook!

Zubi: Everlasting Drops mix

Here's a brand new mix from a well-known DJ/producer & promoter from Montreal, the talented Zubi.

He was one half of the now defunct rave duo NROTB, but these days he focuses most of his energy on his DJing and bringing dope producers to our shores. He's a shameless lover of all things house, but is obviously not afraid to dive effortlessly into more tech-y EDM as well during his sets.

Zubi throws a monthly party at Velvet Speakeasy called United Groove, which has seen the likes of Camel, Mowgli, Egyptrixx, Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team and more throw down very memorable sets. Although I've only been to one of these parties so far, I've heard great things about them, and I definitely recommend hitting them up at least once if you live in Montreal.

His most recent mix, Everlasting Drops, is a fantastic voyage through various memorable grooves. House, techno and UK Bass are all seamlessly brought together and treated with equal reverence. He releases a new mix every few months, and this one comes just in time for the great thaw we call springtime. Piknic Electronik only starts in a few weeks, but this should tide you over until then. Enjoy!

Torro Torro

Good evening to all.

As my colleague Mr Calibaba has mentioned, both he and Bynie will be roadtrippin' along the West Coast of the USA for the next few weeks, which leaves you in my semi-capable hands for a little while. Fear not, I shall be attempting to please all of you, and will continue posting bangin' tunes from as many genres as possible. I don't have much 'underground' hip-hop on my hard drive, but I'll try my best.

In the meantime, tonight's post is focused on a great Canadian house duo from Toronto that you've surely heard of before, Torro Torro.

AC Slater- Banger (Torro Torro Remix)

Autoerotique- Turn up the volume (Torro Torro & Billy the Gent moombahton remix)

Riviera- 40 Thieves (Torro Torro Remix)

Torro Torro hit us up to promote their Blue Blouse EP which dropped on T&A Records in March. They've included a great little minimix which showcases the tunes featured on the EP, which includes remixes by Zombies For Money, DJ Ayres, Wax Romeo & Johnny Love from Deathface. T&A is a dope label (run by Tittsworth and DJ Ayres) that definitely deserves your support, so if you dig the minimix, and any of the hard-hitting tunes showcased above, you should head over to Beatport to cop it and/or any of their dope tunes.
