Laid Back Sunday #9

Really going O.G on this one.

SoulChef - Sentimentally Madd (feat. Need Not Worry)
1st off with one of my latest discovery. This song is off a free album called "Remember When..." produced by a guy named SoulChef. His pseudonym definitely fits his style of music. This quote couldn't describe the album in a better way :

"Remember When Hip Hop was this? Remember When Hip Hop was that? At a time where the future of Hip Hop is regularly questioned, and the constant debate about what’s “real” is still a hot topic; it’s often times hard to see beyond the obvious. When the same songs from the 70s and 80s were not only remixed in the 90s, but re-remixed again in the 2000s. When live instruments have been replaced with repetitive sounds. SoulChef’s release “Remember When…” takes a look back at the yesteryear of hip hop. His soulfully jazzy approach at production is mixed with live instruments and complimented by a talented line-up of artists who help paint his picture. This 10 track album is a nostalgic look at the fundamental Hip Hop we all originally fell in love with."

Q-Tip & Stevie Wonder - What The Fuss (Shook Remix)
Now here's a jazzy banger. This track is off a really cool mixtape J Period released a couple years ago featuring some nice remixes and originals in the intent to present Q-Tip's best work. In this song he flips Mobb Deep Shook One and turns it into a classy tune with Stevie on the chorus. Some quality stuff right here.

Gorilla Zoe - Real Motherfucker (feat. Boyz N Da Hood)
To finish this post, decided to go with a rap tune that we used to bang hard back in the days. IF you'z a real mothafucka you'll understand.

peace, enjoy your Sunday
