Talib Kweli's 1st album since leaving Warner Bros is here. Released under his new label "Talibra" the album is called "Gutter Rainbows" and is featuring some dope producers such as : Ski Beatz, 88-Keys, Oh No, etc.

This Alabama born & raised trio was well known back in the days for producing remixes for girl acts such as Beyonce, Destiny's Child and all that kind of shit. They still created some tunes of their own. For a certain reason, this one, with the sweet home alabama steeze, can stay stuck in my head for hours. Cheesy beat & lyrics but whatever man

The Coup - My Favorite Mutiny (Feat. Black Thought & Talib Kweli)
The Coup has been doing their thing since 1991. They make political/activist hiphop with somewhat of a "The Roots" style. Raw drums and funky bass are part of their arsenal. I once saw them performing live in Whistler, very energetic group. The track here features Black Thought from The Roots and Talib Kweli. This one is a classic, no doubt about that.

J Dilla - Reality TV (feat. Black Thought)
This song is off the latest J Dilla album. I thought this track really stood out of the rest. Black Thought is one sick emcee. Crazy flow with head-slapping lyrics.

Yesterday was a good day. We partied our asses off as usual, randomly met and got drunk with Bloc Party's bus driver which was quite funny.

Today's post is going to feature hip hop songs and the samples used by each producers. Some times you find a beat so sick that you wonder what was the original track used to create this master "piece".

1st track by Talib Kweli. This is an old track off the Eardrum cd. First time I saw Talib Kweli live he started the show with this song and it was damn good. The bass was hitting so hard I thought I was going to have a heart attack. The sample used here is from an old mellow funk/soul song. Good beat to relax

CunninLynguists have been one of my favorite hip hop act for quite some time. This beat called Hellfire samples a weird demoniac song by Arthur Brown. Ryan "Kno" Wisler really did a great job on the beat. Take a look at the video, his dance moves are too good.

Reflection Eternal is baaaacck. Hip Hop duo composed of producer/DJ Hi-Tek and emcee Talib Kweli. They released their only and 1st CD(Train of Thought) in 2000 and is actually one of my personal favorites. Classic,funky,groovy hip hop beats topped with one of the best modern emcee.

They pre-leaked 3 songs in the last weeks with 2 video clips. GOOD shit, cant wait for the album to drop this summer, perfect vibe for the sunny days. Love the "In this world" joint.
