Azealia Banks: 212

Azealia Banks- 212

This high-octane smash of a tune by the fierce Azealia Banks, straight out of Harlem, has been in heavy rotation in my house for the past week. I've included the spellbinding video, filmed by Montreal's own Johnny F. Kim, which features cameos by Jacques Greene & Lunice.

I tire very quickly of hyper electronic/rap hybrids, but Miss Banks brings a healthy amount of swagger to 212, so I really help but dig it. Hopefully you will too.

Azealia Banks is performing tomorrow night at Montreal's Le Belmont, along with Chicago's Kid Sister, Peer Pressure darling Shaydakiss & Dirty Gold DJs. It's only 12$ pre-sale, so you should definitely check it out if you have the chance.

Tomorrow's show is brought to you by Pop Montreal, Lookout Presents & Red Bull. You can find out more by checking out the event's facebook page below:

Don't call it a comeback.

Caution!

Warning : expecting consistent posts from us will leave you heart broken and deceived.

That said, I'm hoping to find time a few times a week to post a little something. I quite honestly have been missing this silly blogging thing. I also think a simple remodeling of the website has been due for some time. But first, let's just share music with the masses.

Intelligent Hoodlum - Grand Groove
Intelligent Hoodlum - Grand Groove (Bonus Mix)

Intelligent Hoodlum aka Tragedy Khadafi hails from the Queens projects. Way too underrated and too seldom discussed. Just get on his music asap. This guy is a mad lyrical genius and has an actual story to tell. It's great hearing hip hop filled with political criticism, Five-Percenter rhetoric and other controversial subjects. Hands down best example of this is in his song "Arrest the President" released on his first album Intelligent Hoodlum, produced by none other than the great Marley Marl.

Hope you dig this early 90s steez.

Мишка Presents Keep Watch Vol. XXVI: Club Cheval by Мишка Bloglin

It's nothing new, I know that alright, but I've been meaning to share this Мишка X Club Cheval mix since mid-june. The style is right up our allay as usual (R'n'B'/Hip-Hop into some electro). The slickest work in this mix for me is the simple speed up of John Blu's track, perfection.

One more thing to point out about this mix are the two exclusives (which were new back in the day) from Myd's Octodip EP. This is some seriously innovative material. I'm a sucker for peculiar sounds thrown around together and he layers that shit on harder than a photoshopped picture for a cosmetic ad.

Myd - Octodip

Good! Now that I've broken the ice there might be more coming your way soon. That is depending how exciting and time consuming doing laundry will be.
