Well my summer is about half over today. Sad. Still June is only ending and I have 2 months left! On this more positive note, I guess it's the ideal time to share some music with you all.

Well I finally got my hands on this little gem. Until Duck Sauce releases "Barbara Streisand" this song is hands down my summer anthem. Enjoy summer people, I'm sure we'll all be fine. [REMOVED BY REQUEST]

John Roman - Ready For This (We Got Milk Remix)
I hadn't mentioned that John Roman was doing a remix contest in the last post I did.
Oh well.
The results are in and "We Got Milk" deserve the victory. I checked out a few other remixes, but nothing compares to theirs. The synth work is brilliant, John mentioned it sounded like BeatauCue and I couldn't agree more. The use of samples is excellent and the song flows to perfection. Don't even get me started on the breakdown... wow!

I like to keep track on the English grime/hiphop scene because they often come out with nice deep synth melodies topped with talented emcees. That said, London got bitch slapped pretty bad this afternoon by Germany. For those of you who didn't watch the game, they lost 4-1. I thought I would cheer up my English fellows by pointing out some local talents.

You probably remember Wiley's single "Wearing My Rolex" which had that funny music video joking about Paul's McCartney divorce. Well that song was featuring an other guy named Skepta. They both share a similar style. Hard beats, good lyrics.

In my perfect world "diplomacy" would have nothing to do with negotiations about important international affairs. "Diplomats" would have nothing to do with negotiating peace treaties or whatever. In my perfect world, "diplomats" would be followers of the new religion "Diplomacy" and we would all worship Diplo. Anothern of Diplo's weird, with F up lyrics and less heard of songs. Seriously, no idea how someone gets the idea to kill a kangaroo and take a pill. No kangaroos were harmed during the production of this song.

Diplo & Borgore - Sunsets
You think everything is fine, everything is ok... then mindfuck. Your mind is pounded so hard you begin silently praying to yourself. It stops for a second, a single ray of sunlight shines through the grimy window behind you. You let out a sigh, but it's back for more. In the end, this event will slowly drift away. A repressed memory which will resurface in your adulthood. Gotta love dubstep.

The first post on the blog was about Ninjasonik, so let's bring him back. I think everyone has heard of Major Lazer in 2009. Diplo & Switch make one incredible team, Diplo on the remix adding, New York based rapper, Ninjasonik's lyrics to the song.




Sia - Clap Your Hands (Diplo Remix)
Since you can't use cowbells in every song, why not try adding a clap? A hard bassline, some wobble, more clap in the vocals and voilà! You got yourself some heat for the street.

Three 6 Mafia/ DJ Unk / Sebastien Tellier - I'd Rather (Arthur King Remix)
1st one remixed by Arthur King which I had the pleasure of seeing live. He was performing a set right before DJ Klever. So you know that guy needs to be on point to be before mighty mister Klever(he won DMC USA 2 times in a row). Anyway this track is a chill vibe, the Sebastien Tellier beat fits right in with DJ Unk and Three 6 Mafia's vocals. You'll be singing "I'd rather get some head" all night looooong.

Major Lazer ft. Nina Sky & Ricky Blaze - Keep It Goin' Louder (So Shifty 1961 SKA Remix)
Major Lazer have been coming out with some of the craziest dance anthems of the past year. This remix by SoShifty switches it up reggae/ska style. I find its a good backyard party song. I've been rocking this one a lot lately for some reason so here yaaa go.

Today will be a little different. There will still be a few mp3s, but I'm focusing on great mixes. To start this off, I just got to mention The Rub. Started by DJ Ayres in Brooklyn's Southpaw back in 02, it began as a night of hip hop. DJ Eleven was a guest for the first night of The Rub. Cosmo Baker joined in the partying shortly after and the three of them have been doing their thing ever since. However, doing shows isn't everything, they constantly put out new material for their fans and when they dropped the first edition of It's the Motherfucking Remix Vol. 1, it put The Rub at a worldwide level. The latest volume was released a few days before the start of 2010. Grab the mix on their site for free and a few of my favorite tracks below, enjoy!

In the recent past, I talked about John Roman, that incredibly talented Canadian DJ. Once again that's JOHN ROMAN, remember his name in 2010. Well in the past week he has finally released his Reclusion Mix and as expected it's banging! I can't wait till Sing is released, such a good song. In more recent news, I want all these songs.

1st beats by Chi-town powergroup BBU which stands for an awsome name : Bin Laden Blowin Up ahahahh. Pretty much underground, they released a while back a free mixtape called "Fear Of A Clear Channel Planet". You have some random shit on this album, believe me, but I find their sound a bit different then what you're used to in modern hiphop. One track sampling classic song "somebody watching me" by Rockwell, cant really go wrong with that. The other one "Who Da Fuck Is You" makes you want to scream this shit to everyone looking at you in the streets.

Common & Sadat X - 1-9-9-9
Classic beat with Common & Sadat X. One of my favorite Common joint. Sip a beer and just chill.


Outkast - Flip Flop Rock (Feat. Killer Mike & Jay-Z)
Since summer is in full effect, well we need that Flip Flop Rock yaknow. You got some of the best mainstream flow on this beat. Good song, people have been sleeping on this beat for quite a while since its from the Speakerboxx album. Enjoy
